Wunschgarten Beading Workshop

When working with kids, it is very common to ask them what they would like to do next. Although beading was always highly requested by girls, since around 2020 the trend of teenage boys wearing beaded jewellery in pop culture has brought a certain gender balance to these workshops. Boys from Eastern cultural backgrounds also often break Western gender roles around beading.
One thing is sure: beading is one of the most relaxing activities for all genders, and it results quickly in a wearable product. If the beads are nice, the result is almost guaranteed to look good. That is why beading workshops are confidence-boosters for those who struggle to find joy in other creative processes. They also offer a clear way to experience how a fashion product is made. Kids can see how long it takes to make something like a necklace or bracelet and how important it is to respect handmade items. They can reflect on whether a product was produced under fair conditions and why consuming fast fashion can be harmful.
